apr stage III worth it?
It seems to me that the APR stage III kit wouldn't be worth the $4,500. On top of that, u need a FMIC, exhaust, new DV, coolant lines, etc. It just seems like its not worth the time or money when you can get more power out of a gt28rs that cost you a lot less. I know it's tough tuning up the 28rs but is the stage 3 really worth $4500 + money for other factors needed? Any1 have apr stage III that can relate?? Thanks....
any idea on the price for hte upcomin stageIII+??

Well for apr all you need is fmic, clutch, and dv, and then your good to go, with a worry free, bolt up, reliable car. With the gt28rs route you will end up spending about the same amount, you will have more power, but it is in no way reliable.
Just remember there are 3 things and you can only ever have two of them
cheap
reliable
powerful

No.
Buy a GT28RS turbo from ATP (once the k03 k04 eliminators are avail). Buy E-Code FMIC. Get free forge 007 DV from E-Code w/ purchase of Revo Big turbo software. Buy Green top injectors. Total is not more then 3500 and you have 400 chp.

Dont forget fuel pump, adjustbale fuel pressure regulator, fuel pressure gauge, clutch, intake set-up, maf, vag-com, mounting hardware, boost controller, and a bunch of other stuff that will come up along the way. Once you start putting everything together you realize how much extra stuff you need and it adds up fast.
And im sure it does add up fast! That's a good way of loking at it too Tom, 2 things outta the 3 lol. But i'll see the reviews of the eliminators before i make a decision but i hope you guys can help me through piecing it together when its time. Thanks!
Well for the software, its great for the price $90, but it runs very rich and throws a check sum code. It idles great, and part throttle is great and its very very smooth, but it takes a lot of messing around with the maf, and the fuel pressure. However that software is not available anymore, and the final release will be out soon. I think that is going to be adecent program esp because they currently have 3 dbc cars in house
Where does the ATP kit vent the blowoff valve and wastegate in the standard stage III (or in yours tom)? I'm looking at a car with the stage III but it gets a rich condition whenever the throttle is shut (blowoff valve dumps to atmosphere instead of behind the maf). I'm curious about the wastegate and how that is plumbed because it has an external TIAL setup but I cannot see it from the pics and the owner says it vents to atmosphere. Also, how rich dose the ATP steup run? I saw in another post that you mentioned getting blank gaskets, I assume then that the ATP setup does not come with gaskets for the manifold and flange?
