I heard that if you have APR Stage 1, and you install the Bosch injectors yourself you dont need a software upgrade, the APR chip will automatically recognize the new injectors and give you the extra power. is this true?
also, does anybody on here have the stage 1+ without the exhaust? is it ok to run the car with stage 1 without the exhaust? and when i get the exhaust should i also upgrade intake, is it necessary?
My car 02 A4 TQM, APR chip only mod (i plan on many more when i get a job, also i have 110k on it, kinda proud of that, it runs like new)

 

I am running an aggressive K04 file w.K04 turbo in my car with the stock exhaust and so far have not had any exhaust problems.

no the APR chip has no way of "recognizing" the injectors...

if you dont have injectors, get the stage 1

if u do install injectors get stage 1+
yes u can install them yourself! its very very easy! my shop wante $100 to install them, i drove up, popped the hood, walked down the street andhad lunch while it cooled, walked back.. popped em in in about 20 minutes DONT DROP ANY CLIPS!
you cannot drive too far because u will be running way to rich but stay out of boost and u should be fine

and the 1+ has much more torque! and is smoother than stage 1

 

Install the hardware and programming at the same time. Do not risk your motor.

 

u do know larger injector programing for APR stage 1+ (499.00)is the same price as a basic chip stage 1and all u have to do is buy the injectors rite
