Audi 10k oil change
2005 A4
3.0
I'm purchasing this not leasing
using synthetic.
audi service says they will change 5k and 15k.
Yet my dealership slapped a sticker on that says change it at 10k. for 95 bucks.
Now normally in all my past cars I have changed synthetic at 5-6k. I've only ever used synthetic.
So my questions to you all.
Should i skip the dealer 10k and do it myself?
Skip the dealer 10k and just bring it in for 15k.
skip dealer 10k and take it to a shop for it.

RE: Audi 10k oil change
If you are in the US the service is free every 10k miles
So why not bring it in get the service done and whatever might be bothering you, perhaps a noise
If you skip the service and go somewhere else make sure get records to back it up
When the dealer looks at you service history and sees that you skipped a service they think you just didnt do it
You could always change it yourself in between services

Yeah.. go to the dealer, buy the oil, buy the filter... keep your receipts. Change it yourself.
I know at the dealership here, neil sells me castrol syntec 5w40 in bulk... just bring your own container type of thing (old windshield washer fluid jugs, that have been rinsed out). It is nearly half price buying it this way... so ask your dealer if they will do that for you.
You should be able to change your oil for like 30 bucks, with the expensive OEM filter... versus 95 bucks there. But yeah, DEFINATELY change the oil every 5K. I change mine ever 5K kilometers.

I let the dealership perform my first oil change @5K. For my 10K servicing I changed the oil myself and let the dearship perform the usual checks via the service manual. I wish I was stateside to take advantage of the free 10K service, but in Europe that doesn't exist. You should be OK changing it yourself.
