i have an a4 2003... i need to change my front left headlight... now usually it's easy to change lights on other cars but i have no idea how to change the bulb. If anyone knows how PLEASE help me, detailed instructions pls lol.....

p.s. i got a ticket for my missing headlight... i have to go to court on jan 18, which is less than a week from now. please help me [:@]

 

do you have your owner's manual? there are detailed instructions in there with good illustrations to help you out.

 

my manual just says take it to the dealer because cars are complicated now... lol.. if u can gimme those instructions it would be very much appreciated.

 

The headlight has 4 screws. Two up front which can be easily seen (remove those) and two in the back towards the bottom of the housing (just loosen those). Once thats done you can easily pop out the headlight and replace the bulb.

 

assuming its like a 2000, but then again im not sure.........there should be a black metal "cap" so to speak that is holding in the bulb and wiring. there is also a metal clip the holds his cap in place. push the metal clip towards the bulb, move it so that it un-latches from the position it is in, then carefully remove the cap. you will see wires that are connected to the bulb. carefully take that out, unplug the bulb, making sure to 1) replace with appropriate bulb 2) replace in same direction as the bulb has a little piece that sits in a specific direction and 3) dont touch the bulb. put it in, replace cap, put clip in place and voila.
