Hey, I just bought an 2000 audi a4 1.8T Quattro for 7,850 it has 58k on it and nothing is wrong except the rear view mirror is broke. I looked for an a4 for about 2 months before I found the one for me.

 

I love the way the A4 looks and the performance potential of the 1.8T, I just want to know how the high mileage performance 1.8T owners are doing with their cars. So i can get a general idea of what I should look for.

 

GOOD BUY!!! I hope I can find one for that price/mileage!

 

Where are you guys finding such good deals? What resources/websites are you using to find these cars? I am lookin Rochester, NY and West Chester, PA

 

check out autotrader and automart maybe even ebay i know it seems silly to buy a car on ebay but you might just find a great deal

 

122k miles on my 2003 b6 1.8T. I'm just starting to mod now.

I love my Audi. Regular maintenance, getting ready for 2nd T-belt change, bought it new.

Only trouble I've had is an oil pump at around 50k (long story about a dealer who lied about changing the oil) and have also had two fuel pumps go (one 1/2 way between Chi-Town and NY). That's it!

As you can see I pile up alot of miles. Owned many, many cars. I doubt if I'll own anything but Audi from now on.

Anyway, spoutin' off a bit here, but I would be less afraid of high mileage Audi's if I can confirm the maintenance records. OK?

 

Thanks man for the input its greatly appreciated. Another question has anyone tried the performance cams on their 1.8T? I am really interested in getting one before i upgrade to a KO4.

 

Just beware of buying a car on ebay. Avoid the auctions where the seller wants your full name and address before you even bid, there is a buy it now price that is way below normal, the buy it now is in USD, and if the seller is overseas. Avoid those scammers. Goodluck

 

With any car, have a prepurchase inspection done. You might have to travel a few hundred miles, but get a 99.5, 2000, or 2001 A4 B5 Manual Quattro (with Sport Package if possible) with lowest miles possible. Upgrade wheels, tires, chip, BOV. You should enjoy it for a good while. People will think its a "new" car because of its timeless classic lines (nicely updated in 1999.5+).

 

i bought my a4 1.8t on ebay... got a great deal.. nothing major wrong with the car. 800 to ship from tx tho. just be careful, but there ARE great deals on ebay.
