Audi A4 2000
hi, i need some advice...i want to buy an audi A4. and recently founded a 2000 A4 for a ceap price, but the mileage is pretty high on it, (145,000) miles. i was just wondering if it would be wise to buy the car?

Depends on the maintenance history and current condition, of course. You would want to do an oil pressureand compression test on any engine with that mileage. Or, you could buy my 2000 A4 w/50k less miles and not have anything to worry about [8D]. You didnt say how much youre looking to spend.

as a comparison. i have a 2000 a4 1.8T, leather heated seats, power everything, sunroof, etc... and have 155k miles on it. I would ask $10,000 if i was gonna sell it, actually 10,700, cause i just put on the exhaust.with that car at145,000 miles it's almost time forthe timing belt to be replaced again -audi recommends every 80k miles. that w/ wp, t-stat, etc. will cost about $1,200 parts and labor. what else are you gonnahave to put into it,tires....Is the car manual or std 5 spd transmission? how is the body condition? what are they asking and what can you afford?

well the guy is asking 5500 for it, and he said he'll accept it for 5000 if its cash. it sounds too good to be true. i called him up and asked him what features it had, said it had everything except a sunroof.

2000 a4 w/ leather with high miles go for 10k around here. I've seen some dealerssellthem for 11-12k, maybe with like 120k miles.
he could buy onepoint8tee's car...mine's not for sale.
