Audi A4 2003, when to change timing belt?
Hallo Folks. I bought Audi A4 recently. Am the fourth owner. The timing belt was changed when the car was at 54000 km (33554 miles) by the first owner. Now the car is at 13000 km (80778 miles). If I do the math 80778 miles - 33554 miles = 47224 miles. I don't really know the intervals of changing the timing belt. Am little paranoid of the catastrophe its gonna make once not changed, as I read on the net. Money is little tight at the moment. Shall I break the bank to change it. Or do I still have time till I save some money? Any knowledge shared will be well appreciated! Thank you in advance.
You should be fine to hold off. That first interval of the timing belt is very short at only 33k miles. Manual says 105k miles for the first one but the forum guys tend to stick with 65k or so. Guessing there were other problems that prompted the first belt at 33k. Maybe a water pump failure or something.
You should be good up to 100k miles. That should give you time to find a good local independent audi mechanic.

MKE Audi thank you for the answer. I got new problem, its check the engine light just popped up! I posted a new thread with pictures. Can you please tell what is the function of that hose pipe? The car lost its power but rides. I just bought the car recently. I barely made 300 km on it. I haven't used it even for a week. Thank you
