ok, here's the problem(s)
when i have the steering a touch before full lock and drive off, and as the steering wheel straightens i can hear a knock tht sounds like i ran over a piece of glass but this only happens on occasions. ????
only on cold start i can here a loud whineing and it dies out within two mins.

 

Thats weird. I don't know what would be causing a popping sound like that when you turn the wheel full lock. Could be something with steering mechanisms, but its possible its related to something out by the wheel too (CA, Wheel bearing area). Got me stumped for now, any more detail may help.


I assume that the whining sound after cold start is a different issue. That sounds like a possible slipping accessory belt to me. They whine for awhile but will catch after a minute or 30 seconds and then you won't hear it again while you are driving. As the belt gets worse, the whining sounds stays longer and longer. Thats my guess from the limited description.

 

I get a similiar sound when I have the wheel fully turned either left or right, and am accelerating to slow to go into first gear but im nearly off the clutch, it only makes that noise because its going so slow while turning that it doesnt wanna go into first yet though, is that when it happens? Or does it happen just taking off going straight?
