Default Audi A4 brakes

Hello- i recently purchased a 2003 Audi A4 w/72000 miles that has extremely squeaky brakes. the problem only seems to happen for a couple minues (ie until i back out of my driveway) does anyone know what this might be?

Thanks!

don't worry too much bout it. it's just he rust that builds up over night and then it goes away after ur brakes warm up.

if it becomes more persistant, it's probably time for new pads. easy DIY so just pop one of your wheels off sometime and look to see how much of hte pad is left.

Just to be save you should check if your pads are still good.

Incase you can still save the rotors and also save money.

The first answer is likely the correct one. If itis just first thing in the morning, and the first or second time you apply your brakes, it is likely rust forming on the rotors overnight. Common and normal. I'm assuming that you park outside and that you are in a damp climate.

then u either got bad pads or rotors. most of the time it's the rotors. chekc them both and get a can of brake cleaner and hsoe things down. don't use the brake cleaner when the brakes are hot though

if they squeakafter u've been driving then u definitely have a problem. i wonder y the dealer won't change ur brakes for u. i mean it's not under warranty. i'd thought they would have luv to have a chance to rape u like they always do.

That sounds like good news! Is there anyway to reduce the noise though? I live in the north east and it is starting to get cold / damp in the morning and I do notice a very small amount of rust building up on the breaks... does break cleaner actually work for this?

Thanks again!
