Audi A4, for me?
Hey guys,
I'm in the process of selling my 2004 570rwhp cobra in favor of a more practical car, something that has 4 doors, gets decent gas mileage, and is somewhat presentable should I have to take clients in my car. I'm thinkin the Audi A4 is the perfect car. I'm basically comparing a Audi A4 with a Bimmer 3 series or a Mercedes C class. How reliable is the A4? My brother was telling me that they are unreliable from a friend of his that has one.
I know the 05&06 models have a little more power than the 04's. Is there anything else I should be aware of when purchasing an A4? What are some pros and cons to owning a car like this? I like the fact the car has AWD, a nice feature. Any advice/opinions/helpful info would be great, thanks everyone.

Sorry Guys I should have clarified
I'm looking for AWD, and the 1.8T model.
I've done a quick search on here. Seems like this car is problem free for the most part except for
1.) some people are having elec issues such as the windows, sunroof, etc...
2.) what's this issue about the fuel pump? Are all 05's affected with a fuel pump recall?
thanks.

The AWD is definately something I have gotten accustomed. I drove my dad's C class around last week and I miss the turbo and AWD. There was a recall on the fuel pump if I am not mistaken, but I am not sure if the 05s are affected. You can always check the VIN number with the dealership.
You will probably want some more WHP after used to a cobra. Probably need to drop like $4-5K and get a turbo upgrade with software, injectors, FMIC, etc.
BTW - C class are not very reliable (the newer ones anyway). 3 series are nice, all comes down to preference.

This car is definitely not going for power, I need the reliability here. This car will be used for commuting clients around and traveling around to residential areas in my town (real estate agent). I'm thinking this car is the right one, unless someone else differs.
Trunk looks to be good size, roomy four door, good gas mileage, overall great craftsmanship and style...what's not to like?
I'm looking at prices, for a 05 low mileage in my area (1.8T AWD) they seem to be going for around mid-high 20's, at the dealership. I think i want to buy from a dealership so I can get some kind of certified warranty. A warranty would be nice.
thanks

I've never ridden in an A4 AWD before, how is the handling overall?

05's do come with the 2.0
atleast that's what motor trend says:
http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2006/...x.html?vehicle[1].year=2005&vehicle[1].make=Audi&vehicle[1].model=A4&vehicle[1].trim=1;35;3;6&vehicle[2].year=2004&vehicle[2].make=Audi&vehicle[2].model=A4&vehicle[2].trim=1;35;3;6&vehicle.fullTrimId=2425
I think I might just get a low mileage 05 A4 AWD. Man, i'd love to pick one up for mid 20's. Is that within reason?
I wish I could afford the S4. Plus I need something good on gas, and the 2.0 i think would be the best candidate. I've never owned an Audi, nor driven one...maybe I need to go drive one?? I'm not worried about power with this 2.0, I had to drive my Dad's prius, try driving that slow hog around town and merging with cars on onramps...holy slow, yikes!
