Audi A4 Need help ASAP
I have an Audi A4 1.8T. I was driving a few days ago and the Oil light started blinking so I checked the Oil and it was fine. But it kept blinking so I also checked the Oil pressure which was fine. Now recently over the weekend I was driving at about 35-40/mph and the car just died on me. I parked on the side and tried to start it again and it did but died in like 20 seconds. I waited checked the oil and it was fine again. Then I tried again after 20 minutes or so and the car got me home but half way home the check engine light came on. I took it to Audi dealership and they are booked until the 17th(because of Katrina) and I have no other means of transportation. So last night I parked the car and it was running ok but this morning when I cranked it, it cranked but will not start. Please someone get back to me asap.
Oh by the way I am in Metairie, Louisiana. 10-20miles from New Orleans.
Thanks

Uh OH..... can you say SLUDGE? I hope that not it, but if so you might want to look around for a new engine/car. How long have you had the car? How many miles? How often has the oil been changed? Do you have service records from previous owner(s)?
DO NOT FLUSH! What year is your car 98 and newer A4's with 1.8t have an 8year unlimited mile warranty against sludge build up. You just need service records from the time you purchase it. A flush voids it.
Do you really have to TELL THEM you tried flushing the engine? I just bought a 98 1.8t with 87k on it. I flushed it out with a half quart of kerosene twice in a row using new oil each time, then another oil change, then finally another after that after only a couple miles of driving, keeping an eye out for the oil pressure light. If its still covered by a warranty i guess i'd leave it up to the dealership, but if its your only means of transportation... Good luck Theres always light at the end of the tunnel whether you can see it or not
Do not drive your car at all. You currently have no transportation. If you are lucky, you will be able to get away with a new oil pump and claining the engine. If you continue to drive, the car will either seize, or your bearings will be ripped apart.
Do not attempt to drive your car, even to the dealership to get it fixed. Have it flatbedded to the dealership, and hitch rides from friends.
