Default Is audi a4 worth tunning ?

I am new to euro cars and tunning them but recently I got intrested in buying on for weekend racing and daily driving I always respected audi espically after racing s4 in my previous car a mitsubishi eclipse gs-t wich comes with a stock turbo and 4g63 engine if your not fimiliar these engines have a big problem technical phrase is "crank walk" which is when car was particaly design by americans and well you know .... its like a red neck cookin shrimp low mein but the bottom end of car lack of oil flowage which wore out crank bearing ( am sure you guys love jap cars) past but back to the topic are a4 good for tunning for a couple races in weekend and daily driving also is tuning them going to be a problem since these car are more sophisticated?? any help would be very help ful and apreiciated.

welcome to the forums, dreamz. there will be quite a few guys flaming you shortly, don't let them discourage you.

that being said..yes, audis are one of the most modable german cars out there...the 1.8T A4 has pretty much anything you could've gotten for your dsm...there probably aren't as many options as dsms, only a handful of tuners out there making serious turbo kits and drivetrain parts...browse the forum for a while and you'll find all kinds of info...at the top of this forum there's a 'sticky thread' (stays at the top of the forum) called "Audi Links"...most of the popular tuners are listed there

The Quattro 1.8T A4 is very moddable, especially for your purposes. There aren't the extreme race A4s like there are Eclipses; the fastest A4 ET is 11.1 @ 124mph, but for daily driving+trackdays there aren't very many competing affordable solutions, IMO. They're very, very nice to drive daily, and sporty enough to really enjoy at the track. There are plenty of turbo kits, plenty of supporting aftermarket companies, and plenty of enthusiasts.

nice yea i didnt expect that many options since i know the guy who beat me with his s4 he told me it be hard to find and compare parts well that is comparing it to dsm but i think its worth it oh yea and how hard would it be to tune it would i actaully need to take to tuners shop or could i do most of work my self, the first thing i noticed that euro engines all have plastic covering all over and am sure ecu are more delicate when tunning them for a lack of better words also what year/sub model should i look out for ?

-thnx for warning bentframe

...and expect to pay more for every mod you get...

you're not touching a decent exaust for under $800 (and that's cat-back)
the only intake worth getting is about "tree-fiddy"

...oh, and it's smart to keep a grand in the kitty with these cars too..
