I have to admit I am not fond of the B7. I will probably get used to the front end, same as it took me a while to warm up to the B6 (I love the description of the B7 front end someone else gave in these forums - cat fish sucking on a lemon :-)), but everytime I see those tailights they will always scream out "low end Honda".

I hope Audi will rework the rear before the B8 comes out - 5 years is a long time to wait.

you see Audi came out with the design long ago.. I knew a guy who works at the deisgn studio and told me that one of the guys transferred over to Honda and Vwalla..you have a clone..Interesting aint it?? So ya Japs copy everyone since they arent the creative type!

 

yes ive seen this. boy was i pissed the other day when i saw what i thought was an audi. i was like hey cool look at tahat new audi they are cool huh, o wait thats a civic. you can believe that i cried my self to slleep that night.

 

I wouldn't say that, Japs dont copy everyone, everycopies each other.....take for example The mitsubishi 3000gt and the dodge stealth well dodge copied Mitsubishi same for the eclipse and talon and they have almost the same engine.....And i think that japanese are really creative but they sent out their nice cars too early in the 90s like the supra TT, 3000gt VR4, NSX, 300zx tt, Rx7, SKyline etc....So now maybe they dont have that many ideas anymore.....

 

I also agree that the japs really aren't copy cats. The whole Mitsu 3000gt and the stealth are the same car, literally, as well as the Talon, laser and eclipse. This was a joint venture between chrysler and mitsubishi call diamond star motors, AKA DSM's. Even that new mitsu truck is actually powered by dodges dakota v8 motor. but the other jap exotics listed (skylines, evo's, wrx's, supra's, silvia's, etc, are not copies of anything and are some of the best performing cars in the world. even in germany.

Not really, Its called they worked in a partnership. and made similar cars on the same platform.

 

You do realise that those style tail lights are not the sole property of Audi? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Honda have copied very little, and you'll probably find that manufacturers steal bits from all sorts of other manufacturers. I really wouldn't get worked up about it.

 

It could be worse - Audi could go the BMW approach, and make cars so butt-ugly that nobody would dare copy them!
