I am new to Audi diesels and looking to buy a A4 or A6 2.5TD. So Looking for as much info on these as possible.
The car will be used everyday and used for towing.

What engine to go for 2.5 5 cylinder or the V6?
What power outputs do these engines have in standard form PS and Nm?
What is the best way of getting power from these engines and keeping it reliable and good MPG?
Is there much point in going for a quattro?
Best year and model to go for?

Unfortunately, you may have to post several times to get a response to your question. Most of the members on this forum are US based, and Audi doesn't import diesels into the US.

No the turbo is on a 2 litre 16v Turbo from a Vauxhall. Which runs FWD and is in a Mk3 Astra shell.

Turbo is rated to 420PS.

420Ps = 414.26HP or 308.91Kw.
Running about 2 bar boost.

The engine made 343bhp at 6500rpm @ 1 Bar last time on the rollers and 330lb/ft.
Soon to be running 1.9bar = 380-400bhp with 440lb/ft (600Nm)

130PS/310Nm to 160/400Nm

2.5TDI V6

225PS to 400PS/550Nm

3B or ABY 2.2T

220-230PS to 600PS/700Nm

There are stages of tune between the Petrol depends on what you want from the engine.

The demo car is a E30 M3 with the 2.0litre 16v Turbo Vauxhall engine running around 750PS
