Default audi front suspension

hi everybody. i own a 1996 audi a4 1.9 tdi. just recently i had the front suspension on the passenger side collapse. the bottom wishbone arm that is connected to the torsion bar and the shock absorber failed the ball joint cracked. i have replaced the arm and the outer cv joint that it dislocated. but just took it out for a test drive and under tight turning at slow speed the wheel feels as though it has a slight wobble. i got a friend to wiggle the wheel while i was under the car. it seems as though the play is coming from the back of the steering ball joint, there is about 1/2 inch of play. what worries me is that the other side has exactly the same amount of play and the play isnt that loose. is this some form of shock resistance? is it supposed to do this? i have never noticed it before. these steering arms have only been on the car about 10000 miles. i am running the car on 225 18 inch rs4 wheels. has this caused premature wear? any advice would be greatly appreciated
thanks james
