Hey I had a 2 button remote for my 98 that I lost a couple days ago. I have seen a bunch of cheap three button remotes with the trunk button. Does anyone know if a three button remote will work on a car witch originally had a 2 button remote.

I have been told yes and no from different people so only post if you're absolutely sure.

Most likely it won't work. The way to know if the remote will work with your model car is to check the ID number on the remote and your particular car. For example, I have a B6 A4 and on the rear windows there are "alarm" stickers. If you take a look at them, you can find an ID number. In order to know that the remote will work with your car, you need to match the numbers with the particular remote.
