Audi Quality???
ORIGINAL: monkey323i
not to offense anyone here.
but you guys can do a test:
1. try to go to any (ANY OF YOUR CHOICE) audi dealership, walk into the service department.
2. ask the technicans, NOT the manager (cuz they are the ones who have done thousands of audi's problems) "do u think audi cars often has lots of electrical problems. "
3. u know wut they will say....
not to say audi quality definitely sux or good by one's opinion.
just being real here....
it is commonly known fact that audi's electrical component quality sucks for long-term. (lots of failure comparing to JP cars)
before anyone wants to doubt this, please go to shops that do repair service on cars including audis and ask their expereince on audi.
Shall we believe guys that talk on this forum everyday more?
or the guys that really have lots of experience doing repair/service for all sorts of cars?

if you spent more time on the forum you'll have a better idea of how many things go wrong with the car, because that's all most people come here for. read the newbie guide (ver. 2), its got a list of the most common problems we have with our cars, anything else is pretty much isolated incidents. there are some lemons out there that have nightmarish electrical problems, but for the most part audi's don't. you want bad electrical system, get a lexus (tho jonus would disagree), so does that mean lexus' are horrible cars either? no, like audi they have their quirks and some are worse than others. if you cant deal with fixing a few problems, dont get the car
I absolutely have no idea why u said lexus has bad electrical system. did you have bad experience on your previous lexus? or u never actually even own a Lexus and you heard other ppl complaing about Lexus? And that lead you to say Lexus had a bad electrical system?
and my point here is "audis' DO have MORE failure comparing to JP cars"
that is my point. (nth more, nth less)
you're bringing it way too far like "if you cant deal with fixing a few problems, dont get the car"
plz clam down~~ I'm not here to offence anyone or have a fight on arguement.
thx~
everyone here knows J.D. Power.
They've been doing research on millions of brand cars.
They survey millions of consumers and businesses each year to determine how well industries are listening to their customers and what factors determine customer satisfaction and quality.
(Just to let u know they dont just survey lemons consumers. they do it in a fair way. I think u know this already anway)
Please dont be too mad that Lexus got the top #1 overall quality in automobile industry at the moment 2007.
This is the result came up from millions of consumers' opinion (reliability ratings), not mine.
5 major JP brands have better overall quality over audi. Lexus, Honda, Infiniti, Toyota, and Acura.

hehe try driving a car that has problem with differential pins falling out whenever they want to, for no reason, and a recall has never been done. Oil burning that is normal and where missing an oil change by 50 miles is cylinder threatening and ECT's that causerandom misfires. That is the world of the Saturn "S" series, but I love me Saturn.
After reading some of the fall points of the A4, I can honestly say that if my biggest worry is suspension bushings, DV's, and rebuilding an old turbo. I think I can live happy knowing myglove boxwill one day be stupid.
BTW, I laughed about the cup holder thing. What keeps busting on it?
This Audi thing is great and this forum is very well put together. Vid's or pics with almost everything, and very accurate DIY's. You can't ask for better support, than what is given here. If in one hour of one day, I can learn to keep my mint 185k A4 in fit condition; something is definately good on with this forum.

honestly i dont give a crap what JD power says, there's a reason i drive audi's and most of those factors dont show up on their little consumer reports. driving the car is a million times better than any lexus. if ya'll want to crack on audi's quality, do it someplace else.
I had a 2003 Saab 2.0T that had similar issues with cupholder, etc., brakes going bad at 20K or so. In addition, ihad to have the battery changed twice along with a computer module within1st 4 months.
I had 2004 X3, where the sunroof and the regulator on the driver door went bad after 25k.
I had a 2003 Jaguar X type, where the bearings went bad and leather was fading and had the steering wheel changed because it looked so bad after 40K miles. Plus, there were other minor items.
So, with experiences like these in the luxury market, i am not surprised to see these kind of things. If you think you will get a car with no issues at all, you are mistaken.
Don't even bother with Land/Range Rover either based on friend who owns it. He is like never again.
So what do you do? Do you go with European cars who tend to have more issues than Japanese car?I would, cause they arefun to drive, safer and definetelyoutperformand have the brand name.
So far my Audi has been good to me, but it is only 4K miles on it.

i love my audi,
what about the s2000? thats supposed to be one of the ultimate drivers cars. i've driven a few hondas that were way more fun to drive than my a4.
i doubt that. we own two japanese cars that have great quality. the two dodges we own are cheap, but not the jap cars.

I saw a sig that said: Driving a Honda is like wearing 5 condoms, more reliable but defeats the purpose of driving.

Im sure you guys are tired of my trash talking but I have to agree with the first post. Audi is not quality. I looks great, nice interior, good traction and ok fun to drive but not QUALITY. Im not comparing it a honda im compairing it to my last car a BMW. No one is going to say BMW is an economy car but I had almost zero issues with it for the 130,000 kms i owned it. My "03 1.8t Quatro is constant nightmare. Ive spent nearly $6000 on stuped repairs, window regulators, moon roof, sensors etc. I take care of my car and it has low miles on it, no excuse for the constant breakdowns. I tell my G/f that my audi keeps giving me a check engine light to let me know its still alive, if it went more than a week without a dash light comming on I would be worried. Once I get some money together this car is gone!
Point blank Audis are amazing car if they are taken care of. If the you bought it new and all of that crap happened then bring it back to the dealer and have them fix it, that’s what the warranty is for and if it keeps adding up then study your states lemon laws, ALL makes send one every once and again. If you did not buy it new you should have done you research, NO one will recommend buying an Audi without full records, the reason for this is if the car was not taken car of it will have problems, it is not a Honda. Hondas as long as you keep oil in it, it will run, but that has nothing to do with quality. Maybe a clearer picture would be a $20 Timex watch to a $10,000 Rolex. The Rolex needs a 500 dollar service every six months, most people do not do it and then when the watch breaks all of the sudden their watch is a piece of trash, the Timex just through a battery in it when it dies and you are good. SO that being said are you going to tell me a Timex watch is of higher quality than the Rolex, I think not. Moral of the story is quality goods require maintenance, if you can not afford to get it done, then you should not have purchased you luxury car.
