Audi springs or aftermarket for 18's?

Default Audi springs or aftermarket for 18's?

Hey everyone im new to the forum and to Audi, i just got an 02 1.8T Q and im thinking of getting 18 in wheels for it. i am not sure if i have the sport package or not does anyone know how to tell? anyway i wanted to know if i should buy the lowering springs that audi sells on their accessories site or go with some aftermarket ones and if so which ones?

btw im lookn at HP evo wheels, they any good, anybody suggest anything else?

I would go with aftermarket stuff. As for your year, I wouldnt know if you had the sport springs. You should go to your car and check how many fingers you can fit between your wheel and the fender... that would help us out alot.

I have 18's with neuspeed sport springs... Audi's look good with big rims!

when i lowered my tdi saloon on boge/sachs springs and shock set the front went down further than the back which i didn't like. my tdi avant with sports springs is much better looking.

B6's you can stick with sport susp with 18's. b5's you shouldn't.

i believe sport suspension have the red coating on the shocks. 18's should look fine with sport suspension. i have neuspeed race and koni shocks and it's too low for me. so i'm taking it out and putting sport on mine.

Thanks guys, also if i replace my springs with audi sport ones or aftermarket ones will i need to change my shocks too? assuming i dont have the sport package since i dont know or not.

Not to mention the ride will be really weird. Stiffer/shorter springs on stock shocks is not a great combo.
