Default Audi stock sub

Have a question, my audi has decent base from the speakers, but i know
i dont have bose. Does the bose version come with a sub? And is that the
same as the plastic cover by my spare in the trunk? If so, what would it
take to get a sub installed there to avoid having a box and unnecessary
bass? Are their wires their ready for an install?

nonbose still have a sub on the rear deck, to get more bass you'll have to use a box or bass tube, subwoofers need the airspace in the box to create their frequency if you just replace the factory sub you'll maybe get a clearer sound but no more bass. a single 10 w/ box doesn't take up much space, have the shop use banana plugs so you can just take the box and woofer out of the trunk if you really need the extra space. but swapping the factory sub won't give you the bass your looking for, oddly enough it will probably be more bass with the factory than an aftermarket sub in the same location. single 10 in a box with an amp you shouldn't pay more than 400-500 for decent equipment plus the install. if you use the factory headunit youll need to pick up a hi/lo adapter to convert your speaker wires into rca's.

Yah i know about the speakers behind the headrest, but theres a plastic
cover round with three screws in it, underneath the carpet in the trunk.
Is that a sub or what goes in it? oh, and im saving for a ko4, so 400 to
500 is just not in the budget, i was just looking to see if i could take
advantage of something that was made for the car but not already in
it if you know what i meen.

HUH??? there is no factory sub is the bose system or non bose system... just six speakers that sound decent. I replaced my whole entire system and have a running bill of $5000 into my audio system... lets just say you can hear me comin, and still hear every lyric over my alpine TYPE R's (soon to be type X's, scary)

My pops has a small ~6in sub in his bose system (A6). My A4 was nonbose and came with no sub. His sub is on the right side of his trunk, i think (the other side has the cd changer).

Either way, those subs are weak and Ive never heard of unnessary base. Its ALL NECESSARY... or at least to a good sound system it is.

And d@mn, 5 grand into sound is a lot, but its definitly something you appreciate every time you drive.

ive got a symphony II in mine and i have a small sub in there, ofcourse i added a solobaric on top of it, but its still there. and 400-500 is in like best buy or a generic stereo retailer, if your looking for a bargin just go to some slam shop, but buyer beware.
