heres what i think.. subies are nasty...they "can" be fast if u get an sti otherwise dont waste ur money.. unless u plan on spending a lot of time under the hood..

On the other hand.. audi's are class.. and very quick.. with next to no mods ur car can be walking all over the randon guys who think their car is the Sh**

I own a 04 eclipse gs with turbo.. and im walking all over the 350z down the street.. if i can do it in a rolling brick.. then an awd a4 can smoke it no questions asked

Thanks for the responses. I like the design of the Audi better, but I need to have a car that is not in the shop much.My experience with Audi's, 1998 A4 and 2000 S4 were not that good. I bought the 1998 with about 35,000 miles and as soon as the warranty ran out it was one thing after another. I have been driving around 30K miles a year for work, andhave had two Subaru's since the Audi's and have had no problems. I heard Audi's qualitity is better, but wanted to hear what some of you had to say. I have looked at the Audi's each time I bought a new car, and ended up going with the Subaru because of Audi perceived unreliability and cost. I don't know if the unreliability issues are better now. I'm also attracted to the Audi 2.0T because of the money I could save on gas.

I did post this on the Legacy Forum http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66224

Thank you for the thoughts!

are you lazy with maintenance?

the only reaosn why a 35k will have problems out of warranty is because the owner did not maintain the car properly and on time.

A properly maintained a4 should hit 200K with minimal problems.

I dont know how far along you bought the S4 but its practicly the same thing.

All the new audis that i get to work with everyday are a dream to drive and own. the only problems recently have been with the 04 a8's that have the MMI software issue (fuckup)

for realiability id go for the newer audis. just for style and comfort. soobs really do feel cheap. but they are fairly fast car. plus with a soobi youll have dumb@$$ kids constantly coming up to asking what youve got done to it.

Assuming that you don't tune the beejesus out of your Audi you can expect minimal reliability issues. So far I've only had a dirty MAF and a leaky DV (replaced with Forge 007).

Subaru is good car. Conservative and practical.
If it had anywhere near the styling Audi does I might have considered it.
