I have a 99 A4 1.8T Quattro, i just purchased a throttle body off ebay and i didnt realize it was for an Automatic tranny, would it still work on a Manual?

not much difference apart from kickdown cable which you dont need, the rest should be the same

My mechanic, which i think doesnt know too much, says the commouncation with the ECU isnt the same, TRUE OF FALSE?

Since you are DBC i dont see how it would make a difference.

I cant see any way it will effect the ECU all you need to check is all electrical connectorsare the same, you can take any electricalparts you need from your old throttle body
