A8 brake conversion is a popular one

Best bet is to pick up a set of used TT calipers and carriers and buy some new A8 rotors.

Autobahn Tuner has an A8 brake up grade for $378.40

haha i never thought about the bolt pattern..duh. well do u guys think id feel a load of diff. or should i just do a s4 upgrade. the reason is that i dont want to spend mass money on brakes when i only have a k04 kit...i mean im not gonna need that much stopping power so id say either the larger brake upgrade or just the caliper upgrade..now i deff now im gonna see a hell of alot of gain from swapping a 1 pot caliper to a 2 pot caliper but it seems to be hard as hell to find the s4 calipers and carriers.

headshok i know u said there is a guy sellin his on audiworld but i hate using that site and i have no clue where the classifieds are on that forum....if u didnt mind maybe u coud direct link me.

S4 brake conversion ... uh no. You can't easily transfer S4 brakes to an A4. This is why we do the A8 upgrade.

whats all included in the s4 swap carriers, pads, rotors, calipers, and lines? so are u saying for the money just go with the a8 upgrade bc i dont want to be dissapointed again in not feeling any diff from stock but i also dont want to spend a *** load on them either.

I remember reading that the s4 brakes do not bolt on although I'm not sure why they wouldnt if you got all the s4 brake components. I'd go with the a8 discs and tt caliper carriers, I;ve heard good things.

I also agree that these stock brakes are much better in daily driving than any other car I've driven but when driven hard the have rediculous fade and on several occasions I have parked and seen my brakes smoking and glowing

why type of wheels do you have? that is another concern. s4 calipers will not fit under say, 17on rs4 wheels. you need to consider that too. the a8 break upgrade is your best bet

The S4 brakes are direct bolt on for the B6, but not to a B5.

Swapping A4 for S4 brakes on a B5 includes A LOT more than just the calipers and carriers... (the front brakes at least)
You will spend more money trying to adapt the S4 brakes to the A4 than you would for the brakes themselves. You will need to install a crap load of S4 parts... suspension parts, hubs, axles, CVs, master cylinder... You can get better brakes than the S4 for less money than it would cost you to do this swap.
