the same thing happens on my girlfriends Mazda 6. She just had her rotors and pads replaced maybe 3-5K ago. Is this a common problem, because I'm doubting the rotors are warped...??

depends on how hard you are on the breaks mate, minor pulsing is normal that's how ABS works but for warped rotors just lightly press the break peddle at any speed and it will pulsate and very noticeable through the break peddle

rotors are fine.... i just talked to a company that rebulds these modules and motors, and they said that if it was the module or motor, the abs light would come on. he said just to clean the speed sensors.. i cleaned them all but 1. 1 rear sensor is stuck and i can not get it out.. maybe that is the culprit??? anyway, the pulsing is definatly not normal.. the car thinks it is skidding as it comes to a stop when going under 10 mph. thats when the pedal starts popping and pulsing... maybe i will just learn to live with it. the crazy dealer wants 3800 to replace everything.. My driver door isnt locking either now, and they want $700 to fix that.. damn.. never own an audi out of warranty!!

... Mines out of warranty, and hasn't caused any major issues.

And as a former brake-guy, I'd suggest just bringing your rotors in to see if they are warped, it really sounds like what the problem is, because if it were a major abs issue, then the light would be on for sure.

I had my light come on once in a while with the same pulsing at low speeds. Turned out I had a chip taken out of my drivers rear ABS tone ring. Needless to say I need a new outer CV to fix that problem, and a new sensor. I haven't fixed this and have lived without ABS.

well, if a speed sensor is causing the problem, would the abs light come on?? because 1 speed sensor is stuck in there, so i can not take it out to clean it... but, like i have said, no lights ever come on. any advice on removing a jambed speed sensor?

yo, the same thing happened to my 96, what dash lights are on?? It was just one of my ABS sensors that were bad, dont pay 3800 to get a 50 dollar thing fixed, lol, go get another diagnostic from somewhere else, BUT DONT TELL THEM WHAT THE AUDI DEALERSHIP TOLD YOU, or else they might just try to screw you over as well.

I'd just pull the fuse or relay or whatever and deal...

I wish it were that simple mate even if you pull the fuse the light will come on for the ABS and in the UK that's an MOT fail, it could be air in the system if the rotors are ok
