autocrossing anyone??
I'm taking my new '05 A4 out autocrossing this weekend. Anyone live Norcal?
It's gonna be in Stockton, I think. First time there so I don't know all the info.
Any advice at all? I'm wanna beat my friend's MR2 rice burner.

Biggest advice I can give is to study the track before you race. Walk through the track and imagine driving through it. Normally you'll get about 3 chances (at least where I'm from, I assume this is SCCA your talking about). You should also watch out for an excessive amount of gravel on the assphalt. This can eat up your paint. I've seen a lot of guys put some type of masking tape on their car right behind the tires. Other than that good luck (you'll probably need it racing an MR2). Your car should do well in it's class though.
as you can CLERALY SEE from the name i autocross. I get somewhere between 5-7 runs...just walk the track as many times as you can!!!!! and just cut it close to the cones...trust me..you wont hit them..you have more room than you think. HAVE FUN!!!

hey a4autocrossr ... where are you in NY? I'm in NJ and been getting the itch to run my A4 now that I have some time to make it fast. What's around our area? I know Philly SCCA has a program but it runs at a Stadium just over the border into MD! Kinda far for me to get there regularly. I was wondering what was happenin' in NNJ/NY area.
I used to autocross my Nissan 200SX, but am yet to run my A4. But, the season is just beginning so hopefully I'll get a chance to hit up a few autocrosses soon. It's an absolute blast! It's fun to get out there and really see what you can do. The nice thing about autocrossing is that it's really about driver skill, not who has the fastest car. Good luck out there! The worst thing that happens is you run over a cone!
