AWD vs 4x4

Default AWD vs 4x4

i was thinging about the benefits of a AWD system besides being on all the time wut are the other one and is there anything different from 4 wheel drive?

well unless you've got lockers on your 4x4 then you only have 1 wheel putting power to the ground in the back and 1 in the front while in 4x4. with lockers then all 4 are engaged. 4x4 is also ment for lower speeds...use it on the highway and chances are something is going to give out.

yea sorta, you can use it at speeds in slipery conditions, just not on anything grippy... AWDs like ours have a center differential that takes the place of like the transfercase in a 4x4 making it so its not putting stress on anything.. With AWD you have much better control in any condition

no...

it dosent pull in the front like a 4 wheel drive

so give us some more ground clearance and we could own 4wheel drive trucks

yea the center diff and the fact that the front isnt overdriven makes the gas mileage good
