B5 2.8 V6 Quattro Vs Focus ST220
the ford has a 2.5T with 220bhp, the heavier B5 has only 190bhp. Needless to say you'll be slower in a drag race. Round a track or in bad weather its a different story...is the ST220 even in the US market?
i think you would have some problems in a straight line, those are pretty torquey. and they have less drivetrain loss with their FWD. In the wet around the track i think it would be pwnage... get a supercharger and kick his *** in the straights too
ST220 is probably not on the US market , but I am in the UK.
I'm looking at an upgrade soon any way, putting a £3000supercharger on a 1997 £2500car doesnt make financial sense, im going to get something a bit newer and a bit quicker, maybe like a 2000 S4 or maybe a 2003 A4 and then spend some money on it, like adding supercharger or nitrus.
I'm tempted to get a 2000/2001 S3 but i like the space / comfort of my A4.
Basicaly you guys have said the same thing i was thinking, it would out drag my carbut throw in a couple of turns and some water and my car comes out on top.

ST220 is NOT in the US market, all we get is the SVT and the limited edition S2, which are hardly better then a regular one. Upg.suspension, spoiler and minor tweaks.
No turbo option is offered on any ford out here currently, as far as I know. (I stopped keeping up with them after they fazed out the probe anyway)
