mlay I hate the stock intake box, the thing is rediculous. I want to replace it simply b/c it is hard to access and replace the filter. I grabbed a dry-flow cone air intake and wanted to do some type of ram-air setup. I heard cold-air intakes are dumb to do b/c if any water gets into it you lose your turbo. Has anyone done an intake, esp cone?

I want some pictures and an explenation and some tips!!!!!

btw i searched AW and didnt come up with anything good

 

you could take it apart and just shove the cone on the end of the maf, but u will get some heat soak and it is probably not worth it, i would just cut up the air box to let more air in

 

i have a open intake system and it is bullshit I wish I could have a stock air box but with my turbo setup I could not work it in there this thing has been nothing but problems espically when it rains mulitple misfires

 

i have a small 90 degree elbow and a foam filter atached to the maf its alot like the lltek or any other system in the end i would rather have my box back i would use a high flow filter in the stock box on rainy days i have to take it easy in flooded areas

 

i dont have any problems wiht my intake and rain, i have driveing in huge rain storms with no problems

 

I have mine in the wings and under the bumper, ps: cd3 isn't worth the extra "private"

 

That's why I would be doing a dry-flow Ram-air intake

get an intake that comes with a heatshield, evoms sells them. but so ive heard youre best bet is the carbino set up, its spendy though. but for the 1.8t you have a bunch of options

 

ya i have a differnt heatsheild on there now it covers the entire turbo so its better
