So i know they made b5 through 2001 but i have also read around that b6 was made starting in 2000. now i was wondering what would be the differences between the b5 and b6? I have a 2001 a4 and i am trying to figure out if i have the b5 or b6

 

lol, the b6 was not made until 2002, idk where u got ur info from, but its not correct. you have a b5....

the body styles are different between the two of them.

 

i cant remember where i got it from. there are so many faulties on the internet. but what got me onto this is i was looking at a couple a4's online and noticed a few tiny differences, the main one i remember was my steering wheel is different. could that be the sport package i have?

 

Well the reason that are named B5 and B6 is because of the difference in body style if you start lookin at the 06/07 they are B7. The steering wheel could be that they changed it or because yours is an 01. where you looking at 01's are later then that like 99?

 

theres a couple different interior trims for any type of audi, whether its a b5 or b6, in both of them their is a 3 spoke sport steering wheel, or a 4 spoke grandma lookin steering wheel. the 3 spoke is in most of them

 

i was looking at the 01 a4's and my steering wheel was different looking. i was told by a friend who knows a lot about audi's that i have the sport package. how can you tell?

 

the springs are a good way to tell... just look at how low your car sits and you will be able to tell, what model do you have, 1.8 or 2.8

 

well my car has been lowered. and i have a 1.8

 

All 2001 models came with sport steering wheels.
