I'm working on a little project... And I need to know is the B5 Intake Manifold the same as the B6? Anyone know FOR SURE?

 

All I know are ancilliary facts. Like, I know that AWM engines (2001 A4s) consider AEB manifolds an upgrade, since the ports are larger. By extension, that means the cylinder head is likely different between those two models of 1.8T. I don't know what engine code the B6s have.

My gut feeling is that yes, a B5 intake mani will both fit and be an improvement without even a P&P job. But I don't know for sure. I'm pretty certain the heads are different. Not too different, but different.

 

Hmmm... Well what I'm doing is this:

A friend of mine has a powder coating/sand blasting business, and I want to give him some work, and at the same time clean up my engine bay a bit. So I'm buying a seperate intake manifold and valve cover so I can get them to him, and let him take his time... And then when I have time, swap them on. So I'm trying to find these parts, but these aren't Hondas, they're kind of difficult to locate.

So does anyone know if this valve cover on Ebay will fit my B6?

valve cover, intake manifold im not sure of, like said before alot of the awm guys run the aeb intake mani, not sure with the b6 though. I have an aeb intake mani lying around if it ends up working.

 

I'm selling a valve cover that i think would fit for $50 shipped. It has the breather port on the valve cover

 

i have a awm intake maniofld for 60 shipped if u r interested. if u get a aeb for a 01+ it wouldnt be an upgrade unless u port match the head bc ull be flowin the air into a flat surface ie the head bc it will be match to the smaller ports of the awm. pm me if ur interested.
