Are B5 tape players and cd players swappable?
Just bought a 98.5 A4 1.8tqm a couple of days ago and it has a radio with only a tape player. Is it possible to use another B5 cd player and place it in place of my tape player? Will it be plug and play? If not, how would I do it?
as long as you have the code. still not sure though the wiring diagram has something titled CD Gnd or something I'm wondering if it would work. it sounds like the previous owner took the changer out of the trunk?
Can anyone answer this question from actual personal experience? I'd like to know also seeing as my 98 audi came with a tape deck. So you guys say "look into a cd changer off ebay" but what am I supposed to do with a stock cd changer if I have a stock tape deck? How is the tape deck supposed to interact with a cd changer when it has no cd controls? Does the cd changer come with it's own control unit or what?
Yea, I had the same problem with my 99. The cd changer should be on the side of the trunk and if you pull the mat up a little you should see a chord which was for the six disc changer. In my case I am probably going to go aftermarket cd player because mine was not the bose system.
