The B6 does seem quite heavy- I haven't driven a B5. In my opinion the B6 is sharp with nice clean lines but the B5 can also look nice. Price is a huge factor- the B6's (not just because they are newer) seem to be a little more expensive. The 2002 1.8t has the 5 spd which is nice because you're not constantly shifting, however it does rev pretty high at highway speeds.

Just test drive them all!
