b5's with aftermarket head unit's ...

the plastic cover that goes around the head unit just kinda sits in its spot. it looks like crap b/c there are gaps and it falls off sometimes ... do you guys have this problem ... ? if not what did you do ?

man for a second i thought that was a pic outa my car. i have the exact same headunit, that plastic piece u have has much bigger gaps than mine dose. maybe u can try to make ur own out a piece of plastic or fiberglass?

I don't know man... what kind of dash kit did you use? Which brand? Metra and Scosche (I know I'm spelling that wrong) usually fit perfectly. That... clearly does not.

do you remmeber what brand kit you bought ? that is the brand of wiring kit and stuff ? ... yeah i could make my own i guess ...

Mine is custom, because there is no dash kit for a 2000 non-bose A4...
Anyhow, check out metra or scosche.... either of them should fit just fine.

yea i dont have the wood trim.....not a big fan of it......

yeah i got a scosche kit ... i know the mix is bad but the stock symphony sounded like crap .... what am i supose to do ? its all i got right now .... i dont think anyother head unit would look any better then the stock ones ....

yes i have ... but even with the new headunit initally it sounded totally different even with the stock speakers ...

I have the turbokits one and it sitted real tight so I had to trim it a little. Then I didnt like it cuz it looked like cheap plastic so I had it painted gloss black to match the Apline and it looks 100 times better. I changed my speakers also to Rainbow Audio.
