Default B6 3.0 Timing Belt Interval

The timing belt interval according to Audi seems to be 105k miles for the 3.0 on the B6.

http://www.bentleypublishers.com/ima...ance.sched.pdf

Is this right? I understand some people switched it out sooner but is it safe making it go 100k miles on the original timing belt?

Change it before 90K mi. If you don't plan on keeping your car past
175K mi. , you'll do it once.

Its an 02, so the tensioner is the newer style. You should be OK going to 100k with it.

A good shop thats reasonable would cost you about 700-800 parts and labor.

Ok i"m more confused now because in the 2004 maintenance guidelines, the timing belt inteverval is now 75k miles... what the heck? This is for the same B6 3.0 I think which wasn't change between 02-03 and 04 rightt?

I wonder why then it's listed as 105k miles in the 02 guidelines?

So should this really be done around 70k miles is what I'm assuming?

Ive seen this before depending on where you are in the world some say 100k when other countries say 75k but my data is for Europe so America could be different,

cant understand why they do this but one example is vauxhall UK on the vectra my data says 80k and the dealers say 36k this is because of problems with the tensions and poor condition of parts supplied but that was sorted by Gates who make them back in 1998 only thing here is the dealer didn't pass on the information hence they get richer because they do the timing belts and tensioner twice when they should have done it as gates says,
its a money scam and should be sorted out

ok then, I'm going to go by the assumption then that the timing belt on the B6 3.0 needs to be done around 70k, is that a safe assumption?
