I am new to these forums but have read alot from previous users. Sounds like the s4 is a good car, just cant mod it much. The a4 however, b5 can mod a lot, b6 as well too. honestly how many people would buy an s4 over an a4 if the engine were not a factor? I have always wanted an Audi and hope to buy one here in the next few months. Love the S4 but cant make up my mind between the a4 and s4. Definately going to go the B6 model either way, the engine modding for me is not that important I think 385 hp is enough, not looking for racing more or less looking for style. Any ideas?

 

um if the engine is not a factor then aren't they damn near the same car? lol

S4 all the way if you can afford the insurance

 

b6 s4's are 340 hp

and it will be alot more reliable then a b6 a4 modded to the same horsepower level

 

If the engine isnt in mind then they are the same car, and an a4 would be cheaper. But 340 hp and a v8 as opposed to a modded a4 with 4 liter and a turbo that you could prob get to 300 safely is up to you. S4 sort of has its own classification people wise if you ask me. Not much you can do to the b6 s4. Lol my explanation sucks because your asking not to compare the most important thing.

 

go B6 S4 all the way!! Seats are better, engine is awesome.. and if you put an exhaust on it.. panties will start dropping left and right.. You will have tons of power and awesome low end power.. you couldnt ask for a better car IMO

 

yeah the panties dropping is a good thing lol but see the thing is, im not gonna race it so hp isnt that important, but having a nice growl from the hood is as well. yeah the recaro alcantara seats are a plus and i see where you are coming with the classifaction thing. i think everything is pointing towards b6 s4 as it is. of course opinions still wanted though!

 

I don't think anyone here would pass up an S4. Above average speed, low end torque, muscular V8, great exhaust note, luxury, and loads of sex appeal, its a no brainer.

 

+1. It's just straight up a nicer car than the A4, no question. Go S4 if you can afford it for sure.

 

yeah i was thinking the same thing, thanks for the input guys. just got a promotion so yeah definately can afford it. will post pics once i get it.
