Default B7 Turbo

Anyone know what rpm does the 2007 A4 2.0T Quattro Manual turbo kick in?
I went to dealer, they say it kicks in at 1900rpm.

I thought it will kick in around 3000 rpm.

Anyone know?

Thanks

well the turbo starts spooling at around 1900-2200rpms and making boost and should "kick" in by 2800-3200rpms and be making full boost. if you have a boost guage you can see when your turbo begins to spool by seeing when your boost starts. On my b5 i start making boost at around 1900rpm and by 3000rpm im at full boost which is 21psi

yup, that's what my dealer told me also, around 1800 rpm...feels like it too when i drive it... turn off the music and you can hear it spooling at times (depending on ambient noise, of course)

That sounds about right. I thought it was 1800, but I mean...

B7 tiptronics like to cruise under 1800 or so to keep out of boost for fuel economy. =)
It stays under 1800 til like 65MPH? But mine is the 7 speed tip.
When I step on the pedal a little bit and reach 2000, I can feel a little more kick
