Back seat popped out
Ok so I got bamboozled into driving when me and some coworkers went out to lunch and as my manager tries to pull his laptop case out of the back seat the strap gets caught around the base of the bench. Instead of trying to undo the strap, he just tugs harder and ends up popping the bench of the back seat off. At first i thought this must be part of the design, there must be some sort of storage under there or something...but it doesnt look like it. Now the back seat is all loose and stupid. I cant tell exactly what happened but it looks as if some brads broke or something.
Has this happened to anyone else? I dont want to pull the bench completely off until i look into it a bit more and figure out how im going to go about putting it back on.
Any suggestions?

guess it depends on the year but i have a '96 and mine pops up no problem and stays when i push it back down. in fact my brother threw up in the back seat a month or two ago and i just pulled on the back seat, popped it out, cleaned the mess, and put it back together. just tilt your seat until the back of your seat is under the back rests, push it towards the back of the car as far as it can go, and then push it down in the front. you should hear a click and VIOLA!
Once I spilled a box of shotgun shells in my trunk and they ran down the back under the bench - I found about 7 (out of a box of 25) in the trunk itself and then the other 18 rolled under the back seat. Popped it out, collected the contraband, and popped it back in.
Yeah, I thought it would pop back in as well but even after sitting on and trying to force it down, nothing will click in. I'll have to spend some more time on it either this weekend or early next week. I had the look of disgust on my face after seeing him do that. I had to swallow my tongue and not say anything after it happened...after all, he's the one that got me the job that pays for the car in the first place.
Lesson Learned: NEVER DRIVE COWORKERS TO LUNCH....its not even worth owning nice things these days cause someone else will just trash them.

One time I dropped a pound of crack cocaine in my trunk and it was all up in my back seat. I pulled it up no problem and recovered what wasn't already dug into the rug- then I took a straw and snorted the rest of it.
(I'm obviously kidding)

I no it may be obvious, but did you check to make sure nothing is stuck back there, like when the seatbelt lock gets pushed into the seat. Something may be blocking the seat from sitting where it needs to. Hope you get it fixed...
I had to take the whole thing out to pop it back in right. I'm guessing it's the bottom of your seat back that popped out. To take the top out, just pull out towards yourself. See what the damage is. My bottom clips were broken so i got stronger metal ones. To put it back, the bottom needs to go in first (slides in) and the top pops in.
