Alright...I'm freakin' sick of getting 15 mpg. Not sure any of these will help but I'm gonna try anyway. Please add more or comment if you know anything else that may help.

-Tire pressure
-Air Filter
-Spark Plugs
-Ignition Timing/Knock Sensors
-O2 Sensors
-Boost Leaks (?)
-Other obvious stuff

So I know how to test the knock sensors with the Vag-Com but I'm not sure how to read ignition timing if anyone can help me on that. I'm almost positive that the knock sensors are retarding my timing. Also, if anyone knows of a write up on how to do a boost leak test, I'd love to see it. Thanks in advance.

Oh i just saw the last part of you post.. You should have a code if its a bad KS.

 

uummm...no codes yet. i wish it were that simple. i have really unsmooth (for lack of a better word) acceleration which is why i think the timing is off.

 

easy to check, but time consuming a bit, for me it would take 1hour to check.

 

Shift before before 6k RPM

 

i get about 25-27 miles becasue i drive a lot of freeway now
and i used cruise control becasue if u stay at a constan speed insteat of smashing it all time u dont waste gas

 

man i was getting like 25 mpg until about 2 months ago. i know something is wrong just can't figure out what.

 

I got 29 on the highway running 4700rpms the whole time......sry to hear about it.

Did you replace both fuel filters? the one above the tank and the one in the engine bay....?

 

I agree, I am dissapointed with the gas mileage that I have seen since buying the Audi, I was expecting way better, Guess i gotta use my tip and shift before 3. For someone who drives all day it gets expensive.
