Default belt, an control arms.

99 1.8T fwd...belt's squeaking in front...easy to replace? and control arms are bad.front passenger side...how do i find out which one in particular. tests...

thx all.

Yes, the belt is easy to replace, well easy for an Audi. Do all the arms.

If you have access to a lift just see if you can look at the bushing etc listen for a squeak if you can move it and you should be able to fix the problem!

Belts are cheap and easy to replace if you have any knowledge on working on a car.

well yeah, i was just curious as to the general do it. unloosen....replace...retighten.


all the arms....indeed. how about a lil more specific on the belt. how do i get at it. its deep behind that ****.

Which belt do you want to replace, serpentine or iming?

Control arms often are rusted in place. You may need a torch to get them unstuck. I you replace them you willl need an alignment. If you are doing the control arms, might as well do the outer tie rods too.

tie rods on both sides done...just lookin fer the control arms...


and im not lookin fer the timing belt...just the serpentine, its makin gnarly squeaks *lookin down the front the motor* on the lower left side...especially when the a/c's on.

Go to www.eurospecsport.com and look at the kit that they have in suspension. I think you might like it!

well, what should i loosen to get ac belt off, its the one squeakin, and i got the replacement, jus no idea what to loosen to get that pos belt off?? i could cut it, but gettin the new one on is the deal....
