best price and place to buy CV axle?
I have a 99.5 a4 1.8T quattro Where is the best place and price to buy front CV axles? I was told the CV axles on a quattro are not the same as a FWD. Not sure though? Just thought I would ask everyone before I spent too much time looking all over.
Thanks.

whatever you do DONT buy them from ECS. i waited two months and they still were backordered so i cancelled.

I just ordered a pair of new/rebuilt from a VW, Audi axle shop out of Houston TX $139.99 ea. Did you DIY?? Any tips on changing them or links to DIY CV axle replacement? I have replaced them on a chevy tahoe, but never an Audi.

I am doing my cv joint right now, it looks like the axle isn't that hard to access but I dont have quattro so that might not be the case with yours... good luck and let me know how it goes i may be doing mine as well.

My main concern is the control arms. Hopefully I will have enough room to get the old ones out with out having to unbolt anything else. I'll be doing mine this weekend. Good luck. If you get yours done before this weekend... any info you can pass on to me will help.
Thanks

I replaced both of my lower left frontside control arms and the ball joints were a pain in the butt to get out. I used a pickle fork to get them out but it took forever. It definately stopped the squeaking though
