Judging from the specs on your car, I bet it's pretty bad a$$!

It's just so expensive to get an AUDI to make substantial power....With a lot of these new cars coming from the factory with 250-300+ hp, it takes a whole lot more to stay competitive. Why is it that even the 1.8T Golf's seem to respond better from mods.....?

Yea it adds up fast. the golf respond better because they are a little lighter (i think) and they arent awd so they only have like 15% drivetrain loss instead of 22-25% The 97-99.5 a4 1.8t will actually respond better because it has a stronger bottom end, and a big port head, not to mention 20mm wrist pins rather than the new vw's 19mm wrist pins which comes into play when you build up the motor

I think after I get this Audi im just going to play it conservative....i've read that the auto tranny cant hold much over 230-250hp.So maybe just the basics...i had my heart set on getting a BOV and an intercooler but from what ppl have been advising me, it's not a good idea. I guess my mods will be limited to some kinda hybrid DV, as i do like the sounds of a BOV, MAYBE an intake, and definately an exhaust...Still undecided about chipping or just using an electronic boost controller though.

def chip it, its not only boost that makes power but timing as well. An ebc cant add timing or fuel

Stock First Generation DSM (Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon, Plymouth Laser) Recirculation BOV... Can handle up to 30psi with no problems, and sounds great. It's taking a bit of work to get to fit the stock hosing and location, but it looks like it's going to work. I'll post a write up when I'm done.

Oh yeah, I'm doing this for under $40.

To be a true original....

take the item below and strap it the the dump end of your DV.. it will make your DV more audible.

DV's wont make sound.. closed loop... just go high boost and listen to the turbo.
