I finally bought the 98 A4 1.8 quattro I was asking you guys about for 4 g's and thanks for all your help, but this is my first AWD car and today this SRT Neon pulls on the side of me and tried to race me but of course he hammered me because I'm all stock but we get to a red light and he still killed me of the line because I didn't get a good take off but at the same time I don't know whats the best way to launch this car I've tried and tried but I just can't figure it out, could you guys tell advice on how to murder someone off the line

 

Yeah you'll get killed by an srt, weighs less and has more HP. Not a chance...

 

Get a bigger turbo and you will school him.

Yep thats what i have. I have a coolant leak so i only got to drive it for about 10 min. It didnt run very well because i was leaking coolant when i push it but i was making 20psi and was pulling nice and hard. When my dp gets here it will really get off the line.

Aaron - chip the car (either APR or GIAC), get bigger injecters, and if you have money remaining get an exhaust (APR, Oettinger, Remus, Milltek).

 

Getting back to launching....

Find the spot where your clutch begins to grab and learn it.

Rev the car 3000-3500 rpms, and hold the clutch out just before that grab point. When its show time release the clutch as you give it more gas.
