RE: A better air box mod??
lol, I try to keep it fresh!
im just searching the net. If I find something I like, I throw it up on a server I have running for a buddy, and link it from there.
Most of them are just googled.

Can we really expect a performance improvement or is it purely for the improved soundtrack? Either way kudos for a great write up.

If you would have kept thread digging, you would have found the answer to your question..... Box mods are just for sound, as are intakes for the most part, unless you have a monster turbo setup.

I know this thread is long dead, but I'm hoping that someone will reply anyway.
Does anyone have any pics of this mod that aren't dead links?
What is this valve for on the backside of the bottom half of my airbox? And is it ok to cut it out along with the rest of the cutout?

The only mods I could find were to add a flapper, not remove one.
The picture below shows what I plan on doing, it seems to be very similar to what this thread was describing. Does anyone see any potential problems with it, or have any suggestions to make it better? I plan to sandwich a piece of screen or filter between the foam seal and the airbox to cover the newly added hole.
