bigger tires than stock

a friend of mine did this with his bmw and i love it. he has 16's like me, but they look sooo much better than mine because he's got bigger walls. (235/55 vs. my 205/55) i've seen on other threads that some a4s can be reprogrammed for a correct speedo reading after getting bigger tires, is that something i can do with vag-com? and do you guys think it would be a bad idea for any reason to do something like that?

a 235/55/16 on your car wow I think it would make your car look like a truck

no kidding, skip bigger tires. I've never heard anyone say they likes having bigger walls. I think the car looks more agressive with smaller walls/larger wheels.

235 is not the wall its the width, 55 is the wall, go to high and loose handling go to low loose ride quality

Yeah but a 235 will have big baloon like walls, because your rim isnt as wide as the tire...it would look like GARBAGE. like clconversion put it, like a truck. I think you could go to 215 if you want a little hanging over the rim... but 235... *shudders* that just wouldnt be right.

55 is the percent of the tire width. thats how u get ur side wall hieght. blflan is correct in how he did it. its really not gonna make it look that much bigger than say putting 205/60/16...now those would be some truck tires.

It will look much different because the 235's will balloon out well past the lip of the wheel
