I did it the next day after I bought it. Then within a week I had to do the grill.

i have a black 99 a4, i took off the a4 and the 1.8T badge but leave the audi rings on, it looks best that way....the fade line was there til i buffed it,

Jaxspeed, what did you use to buff out the lines (i.e. did you do it by hand, or circular buffer, etc) I have debadged my A4 and i can see some lines, very faint, but they are still there....

Yea deff. leaving the rings I'm proud to drive an Audi and want people to see that. What was used to buff the marks? wax or scratch remover?

To remove the lines from the debadging, I'm going to try a scratch and polish wax from Zaino. Hopefully this will work. I will try this weekend and post back with the outcome. The badge removal was the easy part, getting all the adhesive off was the time consuming part. Despite the faint lines, I really like the look without the badges.
