Blew a tire at 85
I've got maybe 15k on the NEW pirellis which came with the car.
I was on the highway and heard a fairly loud noise - a rumble. I drove to the next exit (1.5mi) and to another highway - and another 1.4mi to a side road and then maybe 1000 years to a parking lot. The tire was smoking, and worn through from the couple of miles - but the rim seemed ok.
I just wanted to say I was amazed at how the car handled with the blowout- you'd never have known it by the way it handled.
Changed the tire in my suit - made it to the meeting.
I had a full sized pirelli spare with a brand new rim to replace it with.
I love the audi. I do maybe 500-800 miles a week and with the new Avic D3 installed - it's the perfect road warrior car.

You drove 3 miles on a blown tire? and you didn't feel any difference in handling? Your rim has to be just trashed!! You should have looked like one of those guys on COPS, sparkin down the highway. I call BS on being a blowout. I might believe a flat.......might
A blowout is not "a fairly loud noise" it sounds like a damn shotgun blast. I was driving down the highway once and a semi about 5 car lengths back had a blowout - damn near ducked

If he has run flat he can do up to 50 miles, i really dont believe he had a "blowout" he would have destroyed his rim and not been able to to turn the wheel, post some pics of the tire/wheel so we can see this "blowout"

and
+1
When you lose 30+ psi in a tire at highway speeds, its very noticeable-even if its a rear tire.

Whether a front or rear tire blows, rear is usually worse,
ESP helps keep you on track.

my rear tire blew at 80mph, my gas tank was empty and right before car usually dies it shakes like a hell <-- from own experience… so I was thinking my car just about to die, and only on slow speed after i pulled over from very left line to the right I noticed flat.
