Correction: Stock turbo cars come w/ a recirculating system. This is an emissions issue, just like their wastegates dump back into the exhaust. On the other hand, grand nasties, hondas, n/a supras, and many other add on turbos use bov's. IF YOU WANT TO USE A BOV CORRECTLY ON A CAR WITH A RECIRCULATING SYSTEM YOU MUST HAVE THE EXCESS FUEL TUNED OUT! Otherwise, you will run rich, your car will bog, youll clog up your cat, your gas mileage will go down, you will more prone to foul plugs, and you will mess up your motor.

Can't make sense of the pics. How about a pic of the unit before install?

I did not know that about the GN. What are it's specs?

Is any of the negative stuff actually proven, or is it just theory and speculation? In reality, how much more rich is it actually going to run, and for what time duration per instance? Biggest drawback to a BOV that I can see is that it drains the built-up pressure in the system, as opposed to a DV which will keep the system pre-charged with boost. I would think this would show up as lag.
What about it David? Did you have any noticable lag when you installed your BOV?

I don't think lag is very noticeable, but I can tell you that there have been owners who went the BOV route only to admit the mistake when the CEL came on and they encountered fouled plugs, etc.

I'd like to see how my yellow duck would do up against the ol' GNX - I'm pretty sure I'm running under those numbers.

you sure. are you stock or modified?

For the BOv no i never noticed any turbo lag biut about a week later i got a fuel computer and was able to correct the air fuel ratio, which was only slighly off ideal

The happy duck has been on a strict diet and has been working out at the gym since 2000. He's been on steroids for quite some time now, too.

Your going to have lag because you just lost the air your turbo was going to spool up faster with again.

That seems like it would be the case in theory, but David just said he never noticed any turbo lag after installing the BOV. Unless you're off the throttle, then back on it really quick, I would think the stored boost would leak down pretty quick anyway.
