Default Blow Off Valve?

Hey, i bought an A4 1.8T Quattro a few weeks back and i wuz wondering..If i were to buy a Blow Off Valve...such as...um...say a Greddy Type-S..would i need to reroute it back to my air intake?...Or would i not need to reroute it and just leave it open...im curious because i know that when u reroute the Blow Off Valve it doesn't make the noise...but im not sure about the same effect?...does it still extend ur turbos life?...some one..anyone help plz!..id like to get some good response soon so that the shop i go to doesn't sell the BOV they have now that i like because its so backed up it takes a few months to get...so...does anyone know anything about this topic?

thanx

Yeah you can re route it and it would make a louder noise than any aftermarket BPV.

Dont let them discourage you from doin your own thing

re route the BOV?..like say reroute the Greddy type s and it will be louder noise than a BPV?...and this may sound stupid but a BPV is a By Pass Valve..correct?...thanx

Don't let David_k make you believe that there are no possible side effects to changing the way Audi's re-circulating air system works.

Learn all the facts you can - then go ahead and do what ya want.

so brrman why did you change your DV? isnt that changeing the audi system? if he were to recirulate a BOV that would be the same thing as your beloved DV.

Dont let brrman fool you into thinking that nothing good can come from a BOV

So if he changed from a diverter valve to a diverter valve what would have changed, its still reciruclating the air? Thats a hard question. Why would you recirculate a BOV just buy a DV. If you want the sound buy an intake. And the only good thing that would come from a BOV is the sound.
