RE: blow off valve too cheap???
ECS Tuning says it best:

The diverter valve (DV) is a pathway for boost when it is not being used by your engine. Whenever the throttle body is closed, like during shifts or deceleration, the boost needs an escape route. If the boost cannot escape during these times, it can back up and cause shocks to the turbo. A Blow Off Valve (BOV)Â performs the same task as a DV, but instead of returning the boosted air back into the intake, it vents it the the atmosphere. Â ECS HKSÂ BOV kits will not cause check engine light on your 1.8T vehicle.

Buy parts from ECStuning.com or another reputable dealer.

Most of the stuff on ebay is crap for our cars.

There are some exceptions, but usually, if its good stuff, you can get it from a reputable dealer for near the same price. So why not go through someone that will warranty your purchase?

The chip you posted is not worth the plastic used to make it. A real chip costs around $500 for this car. There is no cheap intake for this car. You dont even need one unless you have a BT. The most you need is a K/N drop in filter.

Use the search before posting or you will need this:

RE: blow off valve too cheap???
i am trying to get a few small things for my car that are cheap and do some use for the engine. i was told that a BOV will make my plugs foul and tell my O2 sensor there is problems, etc, etc.. i want that hiss sound when i switch gears though.. and i want a better intake, but when i was just reading, i see that the intake stock, already comes pretty much as good as it gets unless your trying to get every inch of HP out of your engine. and i want to get a chip for cheap ( dont we all ) and eventually some rims.. but hey, i just got this car 5 days ago

here is a chip that says the incoming air is cold, which in return gives you better HP.. supposably..

ECU Chip

OMG NO! Dude check out the chip thread at the top of the page for some info. You have a lot of research to do, and if I were you I wouldn't spend any of your hard earned cash until you do so.

Theres really no such thing as a chip for cheap unless you are able to find a used chipped ecu for maybe $50 less than a new one. Check the classifieds and make sure it will work with your yr/specs. For the gains you get, $500 is cheap to me. Probably the most cost effective mod out there.
