Default Blown Speaker - Remove Door Panel Help

I've got a blown speaker in the front right side.
How do I remove the door panel properly in order to disconnect and replace this speaker?
Does anyone know how much it will cost to replace this speaker? Is it more efficient to replace it with the OEM speaker or with aftermarket?

Welcome to the forum. Lots of help and information here, especially in the archives (hint hint).

Door removal and speaker is easy. Ask around on the archives if anyone has a spare one they want to sell.

I looked through many of the archives. I guess I'm using the wrong keywords.
Does anyone have a proceedure or pictures on removing the panels?

On my 99.5 there is a screw on each side at the top, then another screw right under the door handle, then u slide down the plastic piece(by hand) where u took the last screw off and then u will see the last 2 screws. Once all screws are out- gently but firmly pull door panel straight up to remove. Once u get the door panel off u have to unhook the wire for the handle and a few other wires, try to have a very small thin tipped flathead screwdriver handy as it will help with the wires. This was kind of a quick explanation but I don’t have my digicam with me today or I would take pics. If u still need to replace speaker pm me - I replaced mine when I got the car with jl 5.25 csi so I have the old ones. I didn’t want to part with them but pm me and well see.

I have a dumb question; what can I directly replace my factory front speakers with? its a 2001 a4 w/bose. I have a set of 5.25" components, hoping I can use those? Also, what size are the factory front speakers?
