I believe it should be plug and play. How much is he selling the system for? does that include the stock radio/cd unit?

I have the Bose system in my 98.5 A4 1.8T and I love the clairty of the speakers, I am not sure but I think the Bose package comes with a built in sub but I cannot find it, but I know there is a sub because you can hear it in the car. Anyone know if the bose package comes with a built in sub?

P.S 100$ is a steal.

I have the stock bose system, It does not come with a stock sub on the concert headunit. The rear 6.5' speakers act as mini subwoofers I guess but don't put out much bass. I added a 10' sub and amp, and a phatbox 20gb to my stock system and it sounds great.

the amp is on the drivers side in the trunk. you have to pull back all the carpeting to see it. i have the symphony unit and i think it puts out alot of bass. well one thing is because with the symphony unit, you can turn the bass up hire because of a hidden tuning thing. i've basically killed both of my rear deck speakers lol. if you don't have the bose system, you should get an amp and sub and just upgrade the speakers. bose is definitely good but not as good as new speakers and a pair of 10" subs haha

Don't quote me on it, but i dont think it's a plug n play. the standard stock speaker sys is powered through the actual deck itself. The Bose sys. is powered by a seperate amp that is located in the trunk. like I said, dont quote me but i think thats how it is.

and yes the mini 6.5 in. subs suck.

if anyone is looking for a custom 12" sub box that holds 3 subs and was specially made for my 98 A4, let me know

I'm not thinking it is as plug and play as you seem to believe. It can be done if you know what you are doing and have some spare time. One major difference with the bose system is the 2 added speakers in the rear door panels, you don't even have the speaker slots in the door panels (therefore if you wanted these you would need to swap the rear door panels also). And from whatI've read bose hasdifferent connectors from normal speakers. Meaning you would prolly need the wires also. I'm not 100% on all of this butI'm trying to help you out and you might wanna see what you can find before buying. (100 dollars is a steal tho so if you have the extra moneyI would go for it and work with it to get it working, but that is prolly becauseI love projects like that and I have way too much free time haha) sorry to ramble and if im wrong on this stuff please feel free tocorrect me.

go to Best Buy and grab a couple sets of Infinity's and slap a 4 channel amp to it, run a couple of wires and BAM you've just beat the hell out of Bose. At least this is what I had done, bose is good for soft clear music, but if your like me and love to crank it up then grab some infinity's and call it a day. .... Then again money is not always an option
